I am going on an adventure! I am heading off to the foresty land of British Columbia to do adventury things.. such as camping. And maybe shopping.
I hope I can convince people to take me to get sushi. I’ve heard that Vancouver sushi is pretty tasty.
I am very much excited now that I am no longer anxious about getting ready for the trip. I’m just sort of a tagalong. This is the first time I’ve never helped plan a trip so I was kind of worried what was going on o__O
I still don’t know what we’re going to do or where exactly we’re going to go. As long as we don’t end up lost somewhere for an extended period of time it should be okay xD I think it will be fun regardless of what we end up doing (I’m just happy to have some time off of work before I have to go back to school).
I will hopefully take lots of pictures while I am away. Hopefully at least one of them will be epic so I can post it here :3
so I went and saw Scott Pilgrim vs The World on Tuesday…
and it was EPIC
it was just so wonderful and geeky and it made me so happy. There were so many Zelda references! I don’t think anyone else geeked out as much as I did when we were watching it. I know the graphic novel is probably awesome, but the way it was brought to life on the screen was amazing! Cheesy 2-D pixelated graphics actually worked well instead of just looking stupid (which would have been really easy)
The fact that former superman played an evil superpowered vegan was super amusing. And then he got pwned by Thomas Jane (the punisher and currently a male prostitute on some show called Hung x3), which was also funny.
the movie was also exceptionally pleasing on the eyes. Lots of flashy colors made it seem like it actually was a video game, instead of a movie. But I can see why a lot of people wouldn’t necessarily like that part…
Anyways, it would definitely recommend it to anyone who enjoys video games or wants to see a comicbook-esque movie.
Wow.. tumblr is being super glitchy. I thought it was just the computer I was using last night (monster alienware beast) because it was being glitchy on megavideo, but apparently it’s everyone’s tumblr.
Yay for internet fail! At least it’s not telling me it’s over capacity xD
I finally saw Cloverfield! (also on the monster alienware beast) I felt kind of bad because I watched it with my boyfriend and he was supposed to be studying… But he wouldn’t stop the movie when I poke his textbook multiple times. And then he studied a bunch after so I feel slightly less bad.
Anyways, Cloverfield! I actually thought it was a very good movie. The cinematography is extremely well done and it was nice to see a different take on your usual alien invasion movie. Plus the fact that they kept you guess what the giant thing was for a good deal of time made it very exciting because you were always on the edge of your seat trying to figure out what the thing that Hud was recording was.
So yup, that was good. I’m now pretty stoked for the prequel and looking forward to seeing how they’re going to film it. They can’t do a handheld cam thing like they did in Cloverfield. Hmmm….
On a sidenote, I’m going to see Scott Pilgrim vs The World tonight! I hope it’s amusing.
So I just picked up an issue of Seventeen Magazine because I have already read this month’s issue of Cosmo. (I know that makes me sound super girly, but it’s a guilty pleasure xP )
As I was reading, I realized how completely juvenile it is. Which was upsetting because it’s for 17 year olds and I’m only 19. I liked the clothes in the issue but the advice sections made me giggle because it felt like it was written for junior high kids.
(it probably was written for junior high kids and isn’t targeted for those going into third year university… I’ll stick to Cosmo from now on)
I’ve tried this blogging business countless times. I see that a bunch of my friends are blogging, and then think that I would like to as well. I go to the site, get an account (partly just so no one can snatch my name in the future) and fully intend on being a dedicated blogger. I have lots of friends who live away from home and it would be nice to give a little update once and a while.
However, this noble ambition to post and write periodically always ends in failure. I get lazy, I get bored with the customization, I don’t like the layout etc., and then I forget about it. Wordpress, blogspot, you name it and the same thing has happened.
Now, tumblr seems to be a bit different. I know a few people who use it, and it’s never really tickled my fancy. However, I have been an addicted user of weheartit.com It’s my favorite place to waste time. And there I noticed that so many people with pictures I liked were using tumblr. Some were artists, some photographers, but all had pictures and videos and quotes and notes. And when I saw all these things together instead of just text, I realized how fun it could be. I was constantly pulling images that were cute or funny off of the internet and either posting them on facebook or saving them to the desktop of my mac. But I would always loose them or run out of room and delete them.
So why not share them with you? It could be a storage place for me and a place to show off little bits of what makes me happy, sad, or roftlmao. So tumblr it is. I am going to give this business a try. It seems a lot easier and more hassle free than just writing notes on what’s going on with me. Now it can be little tidbits and cool things that I find.
This is probably often going to end up as a longwinded rant that people stop reading half way through. Thats okay. I have fun rambling.
(and if you know where the title of this is from then kudos to you :3 )
